Are you painting the mirror frame?

Thank you JudgG for your feedback! I've had that mirror up for over 10 years and never thought that it was too large. How do you determine the size of a mirror? My husband is taking it off the wall to paint around it, so I could replace it now. :) What size mirror would you go with? And would you go with a frameless mirror?

I think it should be several inches smaller. Tape it off and see if you light a small mirror. And, if you decide to keep it, I am going to change my recommendation and ask you to paint it the wall color in a satin finish. It should alter the effect, somewhat, that the mirror is so large.

Yes, I do like frameless mirrors.

Thank you Judy! So, I actually have a couple mirrors around the house I might be able to use instead. One is rectangle and one is round. Both have a 3" width frame. So, if I paint the mirror frame the same as the wall color would you still paint the medicine cabinet door the same as the walls?

I would paint the medicine cabinet the same as the walls.

You can also paint the frame the same color as the vanity.

Agree with Judy that the mirror should be the same color as vanity and side med cab should be the same color as the walls. Just be sure to get a satin or semigloss in the same color as the walls to paint the cabinet. Be sure to do proper prep to take the gloss off of all items before painting, use a primer, too. Top coat will stick better, be less likely to chip.

Hi Kelly. I'm facing the same dilemma with the medicine cabinet color. What did you decide?

I ended up painting it the same color as the bottom cabinet. Tough decision, I know! Good luck!
