We recently bought a new house and the layout of it is narrower than our current setup. The room is 10 feet wide and 23 feet long and is living and dining room combo. The problem is that the wall is not continuous - there are two large openings on one wall that lead to the hallway and kitchen, making it hard to position the TV opposite the sofa. I have also been having a hard time figuring out how to position two armchairs that we have. The previous owner had only one armchair and one sofa.

How should we layout our furniture?

We watch TV every night so the TV needs to remain in the room. We would also like to have enough seating to have people over every once in a while. We are open to ditching our sofa and armchairs for a sectional, but with such a narrow room, I do wonder if it will overwhelm it.
