It all depends. We are keeping the builder mirrors in our new build because they extend them all the way up to the ceiling. Does yours offer that? It looks very finished and open that way. We are doing a fun mirror in the powder room so we left that one off. When I remodeled my (current) home we did all kinds of different mirrors - LED makeup mirrors, fun/artsy mirrors, and even custom tall mirrors. Just make sure whatever kind of mirror you do, you have plenty of lighting and enough height for getting ready.

In my opinion, the bigger the mirror the better. More light reflection and better for prepping.

Thank you KR- here is the model and we are doing the same except the cabinet is off white. I like the makeup mirror and the frame they used. I think I would match the frame to the same as the cabinet.

Otherwise, I think we will do all the mirrors in the other baths ourselves.

Go for the "fun" mirrors where you prefer.

I've purchased, or already had all the mirrors for our new build. It didn't even occur to me that the builder would put mirrors in the bathrooms. I'll have to see about getting a credit!

In our previous home, we had furniture mirrors in our main bathroom and guest bathroom. The other two had the large expanse of mirrors over the sinks. As Anne Duke says, those mirrors really did brighten the spaces.

I am using a large antique mirror over a single sink in a long narrow bathroom. Perhaps I should let the builder put a full length mirror on the opposite wall to visually widen the room.

We used framed off the shelf mirrors in 3 bathrooms and a glue on mirror in our girls’ upstairs bathroom.

Depends entirely on tract vs custom and your price point relative to the neighborhood.

"Builder glued on mirrors" can be fine. They work.

Thanks Shead- we can purchase off the shelf mirrors- as that is what we were thinking. The builder is actually charging us for framing the glued on ones.
I do know that these are definitely Ok- just don’t know if they work as we are using sconces in most of the bathrooms and pendants in the powder one. I should have said that from the beginning. Thanks!!

Strategery - I totally get what you mean. We just want to make sure that these are what we want as we have the “choice” now. The builder glued on ones seem so permanent and from going through hundreds of bathroom pictures - here and The Internet, etc., they seem to not be as popular for our style, etc.

However- we are leaning towards one in our master where my makeup counter is, as the picture I posted shows.

IMO skip the builder mirrors they should in no way hamper the rest of the build and then get what you like after yotake possession. If there is an issue then go choose your mirrors now and hang them before the final walk through. BTW if at all possible do not do a dropped counter for makeup just the same 36” as the vanity and use an adjustable stool for that seating. I aslo like a magnifying mirror for makeup

Sounds like you're talking a decent sized master bath so my comment may not apply to you. However I took down a very large mirror in my small hall bathroom because I thought I wanted a "pretty" mirror instead. I could not believe how much smaller and darker that tiny room felt with a small framed mirror.

I put the large frameless mirror back up. :)

I added a nice silvery-looking wood frame to the master bath one and called it a day.

ETA - ask them to hang it with clips, no glue. Easy peasy to change out that way. People who glue those big mirrors ought to be shot. LOL.)
