Your arts and crafts design idea is very interesting. A basis for Art and crafts design is to incorporate the house to nature with shapes, texture, colors, etc. Therefore, I think it would be very important to choose colors that can be found in the natural surroundings of the house such as greys, greyish blues, beige and sage greens contrasted with white accents of course. Here are some inspirational pictures. It would also be interesting, if you want to go this far in your restoration, to add a pretty massive balcony surrounded by pillars with stones bases. As you can also see in the inspirational pictures these are as well an element you can find in this type of design that I think are always very inviting as well. Sw has a color called downing straw, and another lighter one - straw harvest. I guess this is an old posting but one thing you could do is extend the deck around the corner with an open walkway to the front door on the upper level. Then you could use the existing stairs to access the lower level. Have you started this work and are you still looking for suggestions?

HI -- Beautiful place -- your so lucky ! I don't under stand you not wanting to use the same colors if you think the barn/garage looks gorgeous ! ? Why not use the tan on the house main and have the red as the trim/accent color ..... be brave .... it could look great . New roof could be a dark brown/charcoal texture shingle . Or if you do a metal roof also do a dark brown if possible .
