Which type of fabric hangs best in a traditional drapery panel?

When choosing a woven fabric for drapery panels, which hangs the nicest? Cotton, cotton blends, viscose, linen blends? Something else? I'm not a fan of how linen wrinkles and polyester always seems a little stiff. I'm looking for fabrics to use for neutral colored side panels with euro pleats and braided trim. I want a type of fabric that hangs nicely and doesn't cost a fortune. They will be fabricated by a local workroom, but I want to purchase my own fabric.

Hi C,

Great question! I would say your best bet would be to go with a Cotton blend or a viscose blend. Both cotton and linen fabrics wrinkle easily, so a way to combat this is to choose a blend with a synthetic polyester or viscose which well combat this issue. Another added benefit is a blend will be more cost-efficient.
