Which saw/tool to cut a steel closet rod?

last modified: 4 years ago

I need to cut a steel (hollow) 3/4'' thick closet rod (several cuts). I've used hacksaws in the past and am not doing that again, not interested.

I have a SKIL 15amp (model 5280) circular saw. Should I use that with a proper (carbide) metal cutting blade or purchase a reciprocating saw or a pipe cutter?

(if a reciprocating saw - what is a decent (but not super expensive) brand/which one should I purchase)?

If a pipe cutter - what kind/size?

If using the circular saw, any recommended specific blades?
