Would it be possible to get a console and move the TV to that wall? You could put your mirror over the mantle — I think it’d look nice with your sconces.

We had it that way in the past but my husband prefers it over the fireplace so you can see the TV from the kitchen.

You could add an accent chair in the corner, consider taking the cabinet out and doing something bigger on the wall.

I really like your chest and mirror, so would just try to find the chairs you like. I think patterned ones would look nice.

I like this look - it is sort of what I had before minus the pictures above the chairs. The trouble I'm having is finding chairs high enough in the back so that they don't look too squatty. It seems that most chairs are lower to the floor these days and it just looked off. Thank you!

Thanks Maureen. Those type of chairs is what a decorator recommended a few years back but we just never went through with them at the time and I forgot all about them. Thanks for the reminder.

I think one larger accent chair in the corner facing in would work better than 2 smaller chairs, especially if the cabinet has to stay on that wall. Like the one suggested above just make sure you look at actual measurements as pictures online can be very deceiving.

If hubby wants the t v over the fireplace so he can watch it from the kitchen, then that wall needs some color. Find a plain wallpaper or paint it a darker tone of what is in the room.

Remove sconces, and mantel objects.

Work with jinx’s idea with the chest and mirror, but go with chairs to match accent wall.
