Stone or tile to cover contractor blunder

We have a custom shower that is getting built and at the last minute we had to alter the design to include a bump out in our wall for the water pipes to go through. Now we have to find a way to finish it that doesn't look wonky. The shower will be wrapped in stone around for the glass to be put on.

My thought right now is to trim out the framing and create a box of marble around the bump out wall on the right side. It won't look quite as clean as the left side that will just have a small piece of stone from the wall to the ceiling. They said we could just put stone and tile behind it (see image), but that looks strange to me. The other alternative is do no stone to the ceiling and tile around the bump out.

Here is the stone we bought: https://www.msisurfaces.com/quartz-countertops/calacatta-monaco-quartz/
