I have carpet in some areas, I clean the garage with a leaf blower.

I think your mud room is working, I have commercial entry mats in the mud room.

I'm thinking of getting a wall-mounted shop vac so I can quickly vacuum it maybe once a week to pick up dust/debris. But yea -- at least the dirt is contained in the mudroom (we don't wear shoes in the house -- they get kicked off in the mudroom and house slippers put on), but I have to vacuum a lot in there obviously. Dog tracks in a lot from the garage, too.

A cordless battery powered leaf blower kept by my mudroom door and used frequently keeps most of the sawdust from my garage/wood shop out of the house.

Does the dust come in under the garage door? Our door has a “rubber” seal across the bottom.

Like the above poster HU, I use a blower periodically.

We use a leaf blower out in our garage but I'll also vacuum the floors with the central vac a few times a year right before I change the bag on the machine.

The garage door is in rough shape, the seal on the bottom is very worn out. I am waiting for my new door to arrive, so that should solve that problem (manufacturing delays -- nothing I can do about it but wait...).
