Comments (2)Would 1/2 inch look too busy....like too many horizontal lines over that much space or is that a typical choice of blind width? I can not find many pictures of windows done in 2 inch cellular shades so are they a newer option? Mine will be up most of the time... except summer afternoons and really cold winter nights. So i don't want to over spend, but I don't want it to look too visually cluttered when they are down....See MoreWindow Coverings - Roller/Cellular Shades and colour...
Comments (4)Agreed - near top of wall /wall with fireplace/ so they line up with muntin on next wall - where window angles up on trapezoid - hang them all around / leave "triangles" like transom windows above uncovered. I like roller shades here since they are the most compact and modern to go with this window vibe. The closer you can get to a wall tone the better . .. smith and noble has many options color wise....See MorePleated shades vs. cellular shades
Comments (2)I sold window coverings for 16 years and while there tend to be lots more patterened fabrics available for pleated shades, that's just about the only benefit they provide. You are correct that cell shade are more energy efficient that pleated and even with energy efficient windows can add a great deal of savings in utility costs over the lifetime of the shade. Another benefit with cell shades is that unsightly cords are hidden inside of the cells. Over time the folds in pleated shades also tend to "relax" especially in places where the shades are not often raised like bathrooms or upper windows. If I were choosing between these two types of shades for my house, it would only be cellular!...See MoreWoven wood shades vs cellular
Comments (7)I totally agree with Jan Moyer, Silhouettes by Hunter Douglas is the best option. There are many fabrics, colors and lifting systems to select from. You have a beautiful view and you are right, I would like to see out always and enjoy the spirit lifting view! Good Luck with your project. Susan...See MoreRosey Time
