I’m replacing a light that is installed under the eaves, on the soffit. When I pulled the old one down I saw that there wasn’t an electrical box there, just the wire running through a 4” hole. So I guess they may have had one at some point in time. Anyway, I got one of the retrofit boxes that clamps down inside the hole but it’s too shallow to tuck all my wires in. I’ve also looked for a light fixture that has more space inside the mount. Looking for suggestions as I can’t find anything that will fit this opening and screw into the wood. Thanks!
