Paint for the bedroom or accents?
Comments (8)Do you have any other furniture in this room, we can only see 2 walls? The room needs color, pattern, and boldness. You also seem to have maybe 9' ceilings and you need height on everything. Could me see a picture of the window? The room looks small, is that true, I am seeing a wall edge corner on the left in the bed picture. It looks tight there. I would look at using a plain bedframe on your bed (remove the head & foot board)..then add a "headboard" that you attach to the wall. It should be much taller. I have used pieces of various lattice, painted black and hung high on the wall. Or build a frame the width of the bed and 7' tall, then cover it with foam from a fabric store, next choose a fabric, not a colorful pattern, textured neutral fabric, and pull it tight and staple on the back side. But a trim piece around the outside edges and you can add some buttons for tufted look. Lots of how to online. Taller, lamps on the night stand, simple drapery panels hung high and off window, add a rug with colors & pattern you like. Bedding choice to compliment. Large art on the walls....See MoreAccent color suggestions for bedroom? And two accent chairs?
Comments (6)Hi again, Here are a few color and texture ideas. I like the chair that you selected and think it'd look nicely with the art you choose from Etsy. One large painting behind the bed would be really nice as well and would add a bit more luxury. I added an example you may like but there are quite a few on Etsy. Or you could even make one yourself? I suppose the chair is from homedecorators? Couldn't find this exact one on their site so I used something similar. Regarding the rug, I choose a piece that has curvilinear elements to it so to " balance out the "blockiness" and hard lines of the bedding" you mentioned. Good point by the way! I selected it from HomeDecorators as well. I think they have nice choices on a budget. So not to have everything from one shop (you don't want your space to look like a catalog), I also selected some pieces from other shop such as Zgallerie and CB2. The pendant lamp is pretty simple yet modern. I am not a big fan of the white leather chair in this particular decor. A bit too cold for the overall visual and off with the bed. You could also take a side chair in a more neutral color and add a pillow in your color of choice Have you chosen or will you choose any window treatment? As far as the layout and dimensions go, I would have to create an architectural plan & furniture layout but on first sight those look pretty save. Before you decide on the paint color, I strongly suggest you get samples and compare it with the rest of the elements. Or even better, paint a small amount of a piece of paper, hang it on your wall and live with it for a few days. Voila. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to let me know. Comments (43)Burgundy is a great choice for bedding. Perhaps burgundy might work for an accent wall as well, however for the entire room it raises too much potential for the effect to be that of a "B" movie brothel's décor. Black metal (or even white metal) would work very well as a headboard with all that burgundy. Consider getting just a metal bed frame with no headboard or footboard until you actually find exactly what you want in the way of a headboard for your bed -- and only add the headboard so your bedding will be on full display. https://www.google.com/search?q=metal+headboard&biw=1093&bih=538&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiXxJfy-NLLAhUM2SYKHa7aB8IQ_AUIBygC A table with a black metal base (or even a white metal base) with added wood top with drawer would enable you to meld your choice of wood chest of drawers, blanket chest, etc. with a black metal headboard. http://www.dalbydealersfurniture.com.au/images/bedside/Chloe%20Bedside.jpg Add to that a tall silver color post lamp with white shade, perhaps with burgundy trim. Comments (3)without knowing more details it's difficult to make a suggestion. this chair would look nice with a traditional sleigh bed. https://www.houzz.com/products/huntington-linen-round-back-accent-chair-2425x2675x395-prvw-vr~35603860...See MoreJinx
