It's your house. If you want the siding on the addition blue there is no reason it cannot be matching blue. It's only paint if you decide later you do not like it.

For me, I like the front door of the home to be the focal point. The addition is not particularly interesting enough to draw the eye to.

But as millworkman says above, it’s your home so certainly do what makes you happy.

I happen to like the classic white and brick combo that you have now.

Keep it white, but what I do suggest is running a railing around top. Very New England.

I’d paint the front door white and the shutters Newburyport Blue.

I agree that the front door is important, but with all the white trim and pediment, a white front door makes the entire entry the focal point.

Lastly, paint the concrete steps white.

Personally I would stay white. Add shutters there also. But I agree with the above that you technically can go blue if that’s what you’ll be happiest with.
