I removed some disgusting trees that were in terrible shape and planted in a terrible location (way way too close to the house) on my patio. Looking for ideas on what to plant there. I actually like a bit of height to soften the corner of the house but not really sure that was a good idea. Initially thought of boxwood as it is evergreen, low maintenance and will allow some color on the patio year round. I'm in Chicago (zone 5). This planting bed is on the east side of the house and receives good sun in morning and mid-day and shade in the afternoon. Planting bed is about 3ft x 5ft. Thanks everyone!
