I'm no designer, but I would have someone come in and sheetrock those openings closed. I think they're kind of strange. Then you wouldn't have to worry about headboard height. Let me add this though, this is a gorgeous room with lots of potential.

I agree with you, kinda odd, right now those are actually the mirrors for the dual vanity, but the husband likes looking at the trees while brushing (them being windows allows for a great forest view from the bathroom area) so closing them is not an option right now.

Float the bed. Choose your headboard. It probably won't have a finished back, but you can add a dresser behind it and still have a walkway between it and the "windows". Easy access from entry door to bathroom door.

Oh ok then, I think that might be tricky trying to find an upholstered headboard that's only 42 inches tall. Your original post said "or should I just go big and forget about the windows all together?" Anything higher than 42" and your husband won't be able to open those to look through the bedroom. You have a dilemma here.

Is there a basement under the bedroom? If so, and the ceiling is open, an electrician could install a floor plug.

@durango118 they could still open since they open towards the inside of the bathroom, he is tall so he could still see even if the bed covers a bit of the "window"

I think your best bet would be an arched, low-profile headboard. I think it would cover the least amount of window.

My mistake. I looked at them quickly and thought they opened out. Jinx, love that headboard. How would center it? By the wall or by the windows?

I may have found one that may fit according to the website is 38 inches high on the low version and 45 on the standard. I'm now questioning if 38 is just too low and It will look better to go with the 45 even if it covers about 3 inches of one window. Also the question of color should I go neutral or a darker color?

I’m not sure, durango, as I don’t know dimensions of everything. But I love the idea of arched, as this room has so many square shapes. Softens things up. :)

I like the idea of floating the bed! If you get smart nightstands, they‘d only need one plug/cord each, and you could cover that with a runner.
