Kitchen peninsula pendant style - how to merge dining room to kitchen?

We are opening a wall between the dining room and kitchen and completely renovating the kitchen. Our house is a 1924 tudor-style (beams in living room); dining room has some mid-century mahogany furniture. Photo of current chandelier attached (curtain rods are similar style/metal). Kitchen will be dove white cupboards, stainless steel appliances, light gray subway tile & accent line, and Andromeda granite. SO: yay or nay on peninsula pendants (between kitchen and dining room)? If yes, should pendant style try to bridge between the two rooms? Thanks for your help!!!
