My roses' blooms don't last long

I'm in North Fl (zone 8b) growing roses for the first time. My Sweetness and Sweet Spirit grandifloras and my Typhoo Tea and Gemini hybrid teas have started to bloom, but the blooms were all spent within about four days. I deadheaded them right away, but was surprised to read somewhere that blooms usually last an average of two weeks on the plant. All Google tells me is how to make blooms last longer in a vase, but mine don't even last long enough to get in one! Any help you could give a novice is most appreciated.
