Landscape Design Design Dilemma

Zero landscaping, need ALL the help, please!

Desperate to hire a landscaper but hubs says we can do it ourselves. It's been six years and we clearly can't. I'm thinking about lining the house with limelight hydrangea shrubs with white and green hostas in front of the shrubs. Would that look okay? Too boring? Any ideas would be awesome and I'd be forever grateful!!

We're in zone 7 and the front of the house faces south east

Limelight hydrangeas like sun..your yard seems shady..maybe macrophylla or arborescens hydrangeas would be better..it looks like a good spot for hostas..some of my arborescens in the sideyard and in the backyard..I'm in zone 6 and can't grow macrophyllas..the plant survives but they don't bloom..

My next door neighbor and neighbor across the street both have the white ones. I'll have to look into what the exact kind are. Yours are beautiful!
