Exhaust Fan in Shower?

(new home build) Would there be any issue or problem with putting an exhaust fan in the ceiling over a shower?

The idea being when finished using, turn on the (timer) switch and let it pull out the humid steamy air...

Nothing wrong with that. In fact, you may want a 2-speed or multi-speed fan so you can put it on low immediately and higher when you're done showering.

If you are going to put it over the shower where it might be splashed with water then it needs to be wet rated. If you put it in the bathroom ceiling outside the shower you can use a damp rated exhaust fan.
