Latex? Rustoleum? What type of paint to use for some planters i have?

Hello,

I could not find the bright cobalt /royal blue planters and pots that i wanted, so i just bought some plain white pots and planters and plan to paint them myself. These pots will be outdoors in Florida. The pots will only get morning sun directly, otherwise in shade, but it is hot here.

All the pots are ceramic of one type or another. Well, two are plastic...

Some of the pots currently have glossy white ceramic finish, some are matte white finish, if that matters.

I want a very glossy, shiney, bright royal blue paint. What kind do i buy? Latex? Spray paint?

Rustoleum spray paint (2x Ultra Cover Gloss) works great on most surfaces and they have several shades of blue. I’ve used it before and it holds up well.

probably wouldnt hurt to sandpaper the plastic to roughen it up so the paint has something to hold onto ... i dont know how it will work over ceramic with its slick surface ...

and you might want to continue your search.. you might get tired of repainting these over time ...

have fun ... spray painting used to be a lot more fun.. when you could get a buzz from doing it.. lol ...
