That is SOOOOO cool! I have no idea about its “history.” But I would try to work with it in your own interior design.

Does it have any markings underneath? Do the ends slide all the way under? In the end, it is yours, and if you do not like/do not want to keep, you could easily sell. It would make a great table for an orchid collector.

The ends slide out as far as the one on the right. They do not actually raise to table top level. I see it as a cute place for little kids to color, but that's about it, but then the extensions are sort of in the way. There are no markings anywhere on the table to suggest a manufacturer or time period. You just hear of people giving things to Goodwill they don't love that are special and I'd hate to do that, but it doesn't really match the direction I'd like to go with my furnishings.

So cute and unique, but it has to work for you. If you do not want it maybe one of your friends that liked it will want to own it. Otherwise you could sell it yourself or consign it.
