Blue mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum)

I've debated off and on over this one many times. Stumbled on a beautiful specimen the other day for $10 and figured what the heck, I love blue and the foliage looked nice so why not. So, what are the pros and cons to this plant? I've heard it self-sows aggressively -- how bad is it? Does the foliage stay healthy all season, or is there a period of decline? Best site placement?

Mine prefers sun and damp soil: it only self-sows into those spaces;) The foliage is beset by some tiny creature which I've never seen but it does get tatty by mid summer. It's a lovely color, blooms for six weeks and bees love it.
