This red jeep is about 30 years old. These kids are the 2nd generation of drivers. The jeep is still running and taking sabbatical while it awaits the next generation.

Rory and Allison - what stunning hair. My brother had auburn hair and I always hoped that one of my kids would inherit that gene.

Edited to add that none of them did - I ended up with 2 blonds and a dark brown.

    Great photos, everyone!

Continuing with the hair theme, I did this painting last year for the neighbor's kid who was moving out and into his first apartment. He loves anime, but I know nothing about anime, so I basically copied what I found popular in on-line image searches. It's 16" x 20". He loved it. lol!

    Thank you, Maire_cate. Beautiful, Rory.

I sneaked a photo of her hair when she was visting us last month. She scoffs at even getting it just trimmed. Her favorite DisneyWorld moment was meeting Merida from Brave. The video of "Merida" seeing DGD in her Brave shirt and them interacting is adorable.

One more, because there's a lot of red in this! Another neighbor/friend bought a winter house in Florida two years ago, so I painted this for her "new" and completely empty house. I sort of wish I had kept this one for myself now. :) 11" x 14", iirc.

My nephew is a red head. Since he isn't home I took a picture of one of the two redheaded cats in my family.

Nice slice of red tomato in a sandwich. Wish we could get them all year.

I had to scroll through a lot of photos to find red, since I have such an aversion to the color. I found some red buildings in travel photos, a red blanket (not ours) on a granddaughter, and several reddish things until I came across cookies i made for DH's poker game. The otherwise gruff, manly-man, poker-faced guys just loved these and were so cute about it. One asked for one to take home to show his wife.

Wicked cute, mtn! and I have that same aversion to red -- unless it's the right red and it's in flowers or fruit. :)

‘Tis the season here in New Mexico! Chile Season! These are ristras (RHEE-stras) being sold everywhere around here now that Fall is almost here and the chiles are ripe. We do love our chile! Here in New Mexico, we hang our ristras for decoration AND pluck off a few chiles when needed to make our delicious chile (sauce).

I have an aversion to red too, but made the huge living rug work in our last house since I didn't want to invest in a new one. I was able to trade it for three rugs when we moved. LOL I threatened to have it cut down for new house, and the original rug shop seller decided to do a trade instead. :D

My aversion is to brown instead of red. I guess some people associate red with blood, but I associate brown with more repulsive things. We have a red Bertazzoni in our kitchen and many red appliances.

Some red for Christmas in the kitchen.

I don't (consciously at least) associate red with anything. I just don't like strong colors. I am not a fan of orange or yellow either.

Lars, when we moved into our first house, the bathroom was my least favorite color combo ever, especially for a bathroom...yellow and brown!!

Gsciene, usually when i do like a red it's a cherry red. But I love your car, go figure.

Arcy, I actually like that kitchen (bold ceiling choice!). As one who has been pouring over listings trying to educate myself about all the choices out there, I am totally sick of white kitchens. Some of them are literally blinding.

Tomato from my "Bart" tomato plant. I bought this as a small plant of abt 4" high on March 22, 2021. An hour after I bought it, my sister called and told me our brother Bart had died.

I also dislike red-- but not because any associations. I find it too "in your face".. it is bossy and screams for attention.

That said, I think a room often benefits from a SMALL amount of red.. but i never wear a red outfit or a red lip. I very rarely wear it on nails.

My brother painted this in art class in high school, and it hangs in my living room. The truck in the foreground is a '41 Chevy pickup my brother and dad restored (I had a green one my Dad had restored a couple years earlier). In the background are a '39 Ford sedan and a '37 Ford pickup that they also restored. However much the cars reflect what my brother actually had, the rest of the painting is nothing like where we grew up.

I picked the frame and remain pleased with how it acts as an extension of the barn
