We recently moved into a (new to us) 100 year old house and our main bedroom have some sad and broken wood blinds that do very little to block light. I would like to replace with roman blinds with blackout lining outside mounted. I think this would give the best light blockage. I also have this large headboard blocking the other set of windows.

1. a couple suppliers that have come to measure have strongly advised against outside mount and said it wouldn’t look good and others said it would look and work the best, so I’m very confused??

2. Set of windows behind bedframe will always be covered (terrible view out that side of the room) should I do drapes, or should I do roman blinds that come to the width of the bed frame, or neither?
