People will tell you that the lamps are too big for the niightstands. The lamp base size is fine - but with the size of shade and swing arm, the lamps overextend the tables, etc. But the lamps are actually in scale to your room, itself. The nightstands seem to be a bit too small, if anything - and I think that may be more the issue. But it does not have to be any issue at all, unless you are expecting the design police to show up in your bedroom nightly with tape measures, etc.:) If the lamps are functional and work ok with the tables, who cares? It is not a big deal. If it bothers you, you could get smaller lamps - which may or may not look as in scale to your room as the current ones. Or you could get larger tables. Or you could free up the table space by hanging some plug-in wall sconces, instead; the size of the tables won’t really matter, then. But again, if the current set up is functional, and you are ok with it, I would really just leave it.
