Eclectic Gold and silver master bedroom needs wall and rug color

I’m so confused! I love my “formal” cherry furniture and bedspread and curtains but looking to relax the decor somewhat. I have ordered mother of pearl bedside lamps and a large wood ceiling fan. What should I use on the walls and wall to wall carpet? Thinking a deep blue or grey? Advice/suggestions/rescue? HELP?

What colors do you like? Everything looks brown & beige. Looks like you have at least two mirrors in there. I would think about removing the mirror over the dresser and replace with a piece of art with some color. Walls could be painted in a color of your choice since everything in there is neutral. Not crazy about replacing fan with more wood, perhaps lamps should be in a color also. Not a pro, but deep blue or gray doesn’t seem like a good idea for the walls & carpet.

Photos are somewhat subdued. the curtains are a soft silk gold and the bedspread is metallic silver and gold. Looking for suggestions for walls and carpeting. Appreciate your comments. Thank you

A beige/brown room is pretty neutral. I like the mixed metal accents. But neither add life to the room. Unless you need the air flow in the room, forget the fan and go for a lovely chandelier instead. Select a wall color that emotes the feelings you like the room to give off. Dark and moody, light and bright, colorful and cheerful.

You might start by adding some art that speaks to you when you wake every morning. Take a color(s) from the art and repeat them in pillows, lamps and rugs. Don’t rely on gold and silver as your “color”. Look through inspiration photos of bold bedrooms to help you choose your own toned down version. Push your boundaries then create the mood you desire.

Thank you. I am thinking dark and moody. Would you suggest same color for walls and carpet, maybe walls slightly lighter than floor?

    Oh , that sounds beautiful!

I am leaning towards aubergine or navy-ish walls. So is I do that, go light carpet?

The aubergine would look good with greys with blue undertone. Think silver or pewter grey. Navy stumps me as the range of carpet colors just don't sound so good to live with. If you choose the navyish, buy a sample jar and paint on white cardboard so you have a little larger sample (2 coats). You’ll be able to check rug color before committing. Easier to select rug first as colors are more abundant. Never select paint or carpet without looking at them in natural light. I've drug the big sample books outside before while silly salespeople stood by.
