May be Vriesea philippocoburgii? Variegated form. spectacular . leaves like that, very large and a huge spike to 5’. This one is still not open. though stem amd bracts are usually much redder..so don’t know. i like broms and try to identify them mostly by pics. but that’s very approximate.

it’s good to see leaf edges (thorny or smooth), the shape of the tip of the leaf, underleaf for color, overalll view and perhaps inflo in several stages, pre-open, open, flowers up-close.

so next time perhaps you can take a few more keeping that in mind.

I found inflo very similar to yours listed as Aechmea tessmannii on bromeliadparadise site. with plain leaves. but other sites for the same plant show quite different inflo. it can be a hybrid even between species. those are

impossible to ID..

i take pics at nurseries ‘in the field’ and then ask a manager one by one : sometimes they can ID the grower or importer . usually you can at least narrow it down to genera if not the species.
