Paint wall paneling wall color or trim color?

Hello!

We have wall paneling in our family room that we would like to paint. It’s not a high quality wood like walnut; rather, it’s plywood stained (more obvious in person). My question is do we paint it to match the walls that are not paneled or to match the trim? For reference, our wall color throughout the house is Ballet White by BM and and trim is White Dove by BM. Please note picture is from the listing - carpet is now a light off white (more gray not yellow) and we are putting up new curtains.
