I think it was a little shocked but I also think it was adjusting to the sunlight. Even though you had it nearby in a pot, it must be getting a little more sun in the planted area. Mine do this when adjusting. Watch to make sure the leaves dont scorch and that it is adjusting well and eventually opens its leaves. If they start looking burnt or stay curled up, I would move it to an area where it gets more afternoon shade.

Too dry. I have a Ctenanthe that rolls leaves when the sun hits it and is too dry. You might have to move it if it curls even of watered. Might be a shade loving Alpinia.
