Window Treatments for Large, Front Facing Windows that Open on Bottom

Hello! I just moved into a home that has large, front facing windows that almost take up the entire wall. There's 6 different windows that face the front - the 3 on top do not open, and the 3 small windows on the bottom open outward for ventilation. Underneath the entire length of the windows is a baseboard heater.

Initially I thought I'd hang drapes that I could pull back as needed for privacy, but my understanding is that would drastically effect the efficiency of the baseboard heater. I live way up north so can't have that, haha. The window is 127" wide frame to frame. Another idea I had was to get one window treatment that would mount on top to cover the entire window, ending just above the baseboard heat. Another was an inside mount in each of the 3 windows, but I'm concerned it wouldn't lay right over the frame that divides the lower windows and the handles on the bottom that stick out. I'm not hugely concerned about covering the lower windows for privacy but think that having the option would be important.

What window treatment options would work best to make this room look put together? I'm stumped. Thank you in advance for your help!

During daylght hours, when you can see out, no one can see in...so privacy during day time really isn't an issue. What are is privacy and night and cold winter nights. There is plenty of stack back room on either side of windows, so would hang extra-wide lined drapery panels. There are plenty of really nice ones on line. Invest in a good rod which will allow easy sliding back and forth.

@elcieg thank you! Would you have the drapes end just above the heater, or go to the floor? I feel like it looks "off" if they don't go to the floor?

Because you mentioned that drapery will interfere with the baseboard heater (AND because drapery shortened to end above with the heater will look like "high water pants"), I recommend inside mounted roller shades or blinds (one in each of the three upper windows), leaving the lower windows bare. Another option would be to frost the windows like these options: https://www.amazon.com/Decorative-Window-Frost/s?k=Decorative+Window+Frost

We have similar window style but opposite. Ours open on top. We have sun filtering shades and that’s it. It faces our backyard where no one is though so we don’t need privacy at all.

I would have them to the floor. Looks like you have forced hot water heat and I don't see where the drapes drawn for the short time you need privacy will interfere. The windows look nice and tight, just make sure that you crank them closed and fold the crank arm in to position.

have you seen the baseboard heater covers?

    I might consider just doing a blind. maybe w/the top/bottom down/up function

    Cellular blinds, Duet-Honeycomb

Silouettes or pirouette blinds come in a range of colors and look very nice

I don't care for the short curtainidea

Would choose six white mini blinds (without strings) to be hung inside the six individual window frames.

    Congratulations on your house!

Another option is exterior mounted blinds (not this color, just an example):

    Or a shutter set-up:

I don’t know your decor style; you might prefer the more modern look of shades others have posted.

My preference would be curtains, too, but I don’t know anything about heaters like yours.
