Yes, but wait until you have your countertop appliances, towels, etc. Then decide what colors you want to add.

    What's your plan for backsplash?

It’s a blank slate so you can be creative with accessories and color. I think a colorful, washable, nonslip area rug would be a good start. Ruggable makes beautiful washable rugs in many colors and styles. I see there is gold hardware on the door in the hall. You could repeat that with knobs on the cabinets. A few colorful or wooden bowls on the counter filled with fruit is another way to add color. I personally like the backsplash to be plain because styles change and that can date a kitchen but you don’t have to stick with white or maybe use white but a textured tile.

I was with Blueberry wondering too about backsplash, and true I had this tile open - it could draw interest throughout that horizontal [from frig around].

    Go with earthy floor tile?

I notice that your floor tiles are a warm tone so backsplash tiles with grey might not work. You could certainly choose any pattern that you like due to such a wonderful blank canvas... but I do agree with others that you could choose a simple white backsplash and add colour/interest with all the accessories. If you do choose a white backsplash though, it would be fun to choose something in a fun shape, texture, or layout.

I refer to this look as like 'bread and butter' -

You can do a lot with backsplashes. But more info would probably be helpful. If you just installed or painted/refaced existing cabinets, and if that is the extent of your remodel - it would be helpful to know. And I am also assuming the countertop is new and is staying.

Here are a few backsplash ideas. The visualizer tiled to the ceiling - but you also could just do the tile in backsplash area, of course. Either way.

You can order some samples from Tile Bar. Best thing is to see the tiles in your actual space. The visualizer just gives you a general idea.

What other colors in nearby rooms do you migrate to with decor? Consider a complimentary tile something you’ll be staring at a lot while at the sink! Does upper cabinet on right need caulk at the wall?

With a white kitchen every tile could potentially work. Best question was @jackowskib’s - what other colors can you see in the adjacent area? FWIW - I have the second tile (the soft blue one) that @everdebz posted as my laundry room floor. It gets a lot of compliments but we don’t know if that’s even your style.
I would look at a soft colored glass tile to give the room some punch.

small space/ the floor has a fair amt of mottling. I might do a black/white patterned tile/nice contrast w all the caramel shades in floor........if you want colors galore I'd be careful.....non fussy...maybe just blue/brown/whites as in the first tile shown above. In truth I'd pick hardware right away as cup pulls? handle or knob style may indicate traditional vs transitional? hard to see what your leaning is.... I see black/white patterned tile....some black hardware w great cup pulls on drawers. Nothing wrong w white tile... then "do up" your hardware and add color in counter top accesories/runner on floor. When the small kitchen is in use will there be things sitting on counters? a lot of activity? then think twice about complicated tile statement. This is a small space.

I wouldn’t go too bold in such a small space.

But you’ll add a lot of personality with little photos, flowers, plants, candles, towels, tea kettle...

Hardware will also be a bit one. It will tie the space beautifully. What are you thinking for hardware?
I’d have fun with that... see some inspiration below... but know, there are soooo many options

For the backsplash I’d do something subtle but with color. Maybe a zellige type tile in a pale sage?

I would either find interesting cabinet hardware or have a dramatic backsplash?

I agree on a zelige look backsplash... and you could also add *Antique* brass hardware - I wouldn't go with a bright gold or brass (Unless you want a super modern look) If you did that, you could add in an interesting faucet (See antique brass by Newport Brass)
