I am redecorating my living room area and am confused between what will be best seating option.

Attaching few option, experts please recommend what could go best in this area?

Recently got this sofa+loveseat. Whats your opinion on this combination vs the sectional (last picture) vs I should get something like Restoration hardware cloud sectional

I would do a sectional and make it as big as the two separate pieces but replace the rug as its the same as the fireplace in scale and colour and it is competing with the other. Patterns have to be mixed in scale and colour.

No one sitting on the couch under the window will be able to watch tv comfortably.

I like the two sofas you showed in the first picture. They don't have to be placed so tightly together. Do you have room to pull the arrangement away from the window so the people sitting on that sofa have a better view of the TV? You could put a console behind the sofa (in front of the window). Agree that the pattern of the rug is competing with the fireplace stone and curtains.

Well, you absolutely need the long sofa or long "L" to face the TV so more people can watch it. Additionally, the long seating creates a separate zone from the kitchen. You'll need to turn your rug the other way. I agree with Cate that the rug is too much like fireplace stone and the curtain patterns. Find a rug that echoes your art work palett--reds, gold, cream..Make sure it's big enough to create a conversational "island." Add another chair to face whatever sofa configuration you get.

Is there enough room to put the long couch parallel to the fireplace and the love seat at a right angle to the long couch?

Guess i didnt read the question, like the other commenter mentioned place the longer sofa facing the tv and the shorter one paralel to the window with space between them to have an end table and a lamp. Cloud sofa imho is overated and constantly looks messy with down cushions. Yes on the large rug with a darker tone as the base and cream accents in it and a large pattern.

I would never buy a sectional as neither I nor my guests would find it comfortable EXCEPT FOR the two end spots. The entire middle is wasted - no arm rests and minimal personal space. Have you ever tried to have a conversation with someone you are sitting closely beside?

I would get a sofa to face the TV and get 2 swivel chairs in front of windows. Different rug and add large coffee table. Drapes are skimpy maybe have 2 panels at each end.

    That looks better!

A good rule of thumb is that objects look better when they occupy about 2/3 of the space they sit in front of. ie when the large sofa was in front of the window they looked matching in dimensions if that makes sense?

PS get some non matching pillows of different sizes and patterns (velvet and linen and wool) and a throw that is chunky.

Nice room. Liking the large window. Might consider adding plants on a table or plant stand behind the seating if the window gets any direct sun light.

If the seating shown (which looks really good) is comfortable, keep it in lieu of a sectional.

No one really likes sitting for an extended time without arm rests.

    Sectionals limit furniture placement options.

If any one part of a sectional gets damaged or stained, then you either live with it or must replace a lot of seating.

Choosing pieces and/or placement to get the seat closest to the fireplace a little farther away from it might be preferable -- at least if the fireplace is actually used for heat (likely better for the life of the furniture piece). Would likely want the longer/wider one (with more seating) facing the tv/fireplace UNLESS you expect someone to regularly lie down on it to watch tv requiring anyone else to watch from the other seating at a more awkward angle.

If you are considering yet other options and budget is not an issue and you don't usually seat a lot of people, you might consider investing in several very comfortable size appropriate recliners (rather than a full sofa or a love seat or a sectional) and place two of them side by side with a narrow rectangle table between them, then add a round or square table on the other side of each of the recliners so you could add a pair of recliners across from one another ... each at a right angle to the two side by side recliners.

Just read somewhere to not but the RH Cloud sofa unless you can deal with a sloppy sofa or like fluffing cushions every time someone gets up.
