They are out of scale to a double sized Kitchenus Giganticus. Which everything in it do far isn’t to scale, so there’s a trend. Or, they are perfectly in scale to a half sized human scaled Kitchenus Normalis.

My kitchen island is 10x4 and I used two 20 inch pendants. I have plenty of light and they look in proportion to me. I specifically chose to not have any canned lights

Cool light, way too small for that size island, and according to the specs, it will provide hardly any light. Mock the pendant size out of cardboard or balloons, and see what pleases your eye in your space...and gives plenty of light.

I think you are putting the horse before the cart, both for you and houzzers responding.. What else is going on in the kitchen? The pendants are very style specific.

Are you going in this direction throughout the house?

@elcieg Yep....thats what we are aiming for - modern, minimal and simple. Our planned kitchen closely matches the 2nd photo. We are planning to use wood slab front cabinets instead of the gloss front.

@lucky998877 OH...like the idea of making a mock up. That would help. The light specs seem a little off. Hubby and I have seen this lamp and it is bright. We have also found different lumen values on other sites. So, that is something we need to look into further.

@Nancy K If you don't mind, could you please post a picture of the light fixtures you used?

I love my pendants- they are only 1' wide and 14" tall- not everything has to be the star. Fairly low light output, perfect for wine or parties, lighting is actually accomplished by a dozen 4" cans (on dimmers) as well as undercabinet tapes.

I highly recommend BarnlightElectric. i went with the farmhouse style but they have many different styles. They are great quality and made in USA. Good luck choosing your lights. I found sizing lights properly to be a challenge!

2.5, 5 and 7.5. but typically the two end ones would probably be spread out more.

@HALLETT & Co. If general lighting was accomplished through track lighting would you still recommend pendants?
