I have a builder kitchen/house that I’m slowly changing for my tastes. Black soapstone countertops will be going in in about a month and a custom hood cover will also be installed in about a month. The hood will be a curved range hood, painted the same as cabinets - Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee. The range is 30” and hood will extend 3 inches on each side. The cabinets had previously extended across the back wall with a microwave above the range - I took down the microwave and adjacent cabinets because I don’t prefer the look of straight across cabinets. However I also don’t like open shelves, and prefer practicality.

My intent was to do a pan rail with S-hooks along the back wall, that extended out about 5-6” on either side of the hood above. But the spacing is uneven, one side will have 36” between the range and cabinet and the other will have 32”. I also wouldn’t be able to hang anything behind the range because I’m always using the back burners. So my thought now is to hang two pan rails on either side with sconces above (see very well rendered image attached).
