Is a $1400 Robern medicine cabinet ten x better than a $147 pegasus?

I've been shopping medicine cabinets and feeling lost. I found a signature hardware one that looks nice. It's in the $300 range. Everything else on that page was about $600. So, I google best medicine cabinet. I got a lot of hits. I feel no closer to knowing what to buy. What should I know that I'm missing?

You almost always get whay you pay for. A medicine cabinet is one of those things I would not skimp on. Robern is the best.

it all depends on your budget. I personally wouldn’t pay 1400 for a medicine cabinet at the moment. But I’m redoing my entire house and if I went with high end everything I’d be broke in no time, I would’ve paid a million dollars for a home that’s not worth that. So I think a mid range cabinet would suit my needs just fine. A 300 dollar medicine cabinet is not likely going to be a piece of junk. A 150 dollar one might be. I guess it all depends on what your budget is a where you want to put your money.

Robern is junk, and be very careful. They will NOT return something if it's blatantly misrepresented. Happened to a client of mine who ordered a "gold" mirror that showed up school buss yellow- it was maybe a $200 LED mirror with a $50 cheap anodized frame on it for $1700!! All they're doing is repacking the same stuff that's all over Amazon, Ebay, and Alibaba at a fraction of their price.

Robern makes horrible medicine cabinets. My wife and I recently bought a house with Robern medicine cabinets in the primary bathroom and we are preparing to replace them because the mirror doors are extremely heavy and the tiny little machine screws that attach the doors to the hinges strip. The little screws are insufficient to bear the weight of the doors, and one of the bottom hinges failed causing the mirror door to swing across the wall, scuff it, and nearly hurt my wife. 0/10 would not recommend to my worst enemy. Robern should not be selling medicine cabinets at any price- they are trash, and I mean that as in we are about to rip these Robern medicine cabinets out and throw them in the trash, because their product is worthless, defective, and dangerous!

Robern cabinets are a bait and switch They show you a cabinet with many excellents features (see comments above) but then they are extra cost We biught one which was shown with nice inside electrical stuff and a nice make up mirror When it arrived nothing inside No wirries they said just buy both parts which was the same cost as the mirror itself. not worth the total cost

Agree one gets what they pay for but sometimes function becomes the priority. Our guest bath had no medicine cabinet and I wanted one to hold accommodations for visitors - like new toothbrushes etc. This Jensen fit available space and is perfect.

Very happy with my Robern medicine cabinets. I have two 24" x 48" recessed cabinets in the master bath, with electrical.

My parents used Robern in a few houses, years ago, and they were also very happy with them.

The website, or a good plumbing showroom, will tell you exactly what the basic set-up is and what the options are for each model ... so not sure how it can be bait and switch.

As far as the "gold" color they offer, yes, it is hideous, but that was easily seen at the plumbing showroom by looking at the Robern color chips/samples or any displays on the showroom floor. I was going to order the "gold" finish, but saw the sample and quickly changed to chrome!
