Love seats are not very comfortable for two adults and personally I like single chairs for flexibility, comfort and more interest.

I might as well ask, if by formal LR, you mean dressed up, or you mean a room not for tv viewing, etc.?

Are you thinking leather in a style like Chesterfield traditional?

If walls are true white, maybe your sofa in Cinder grey would look sleek. A rug like this for example has accent options in it. Do you have accessories and art for the room? If you love lime green - grey would be great.

Your floor - obviously you see it and with samples in person... and whether you want earthy nut/ tan... which as said is nice with medium blues. If floor leans driftwood grey, possibly you'd like Cinder grey sofa.

Not all sunset peachy/ rust/ sienna look good with nut brown.... it can be a loft/ masculine look imo, but could be good if you have black window frames/ contemporary - is that how your house is? my over-generalizing yes.

My little comment is light grey seems ok with rich nut sofa - and with a chalky grey rug as a basic blend with light floor [and not medium or dark grey].
