I'm not suggesting, but I can eliminate one of your choices...Article. A client of mine insisted on Article because she liked the look and the price. I wasn't on board simply because I knew nothing about the company. She went ahead, anyway,...not happy at all with the comfort, the fabric or the sturdiness.

What I have been reading about here is Maiden Home. Houzzers seem to like the brand.

Options 1 & 2 actually utilize the corner seating because it is curved. With small children, I would avoid velvet, too hard to clean up.

Velvet has a nap. And with time and use, the nap begins to wear and show “butt” patterning. It is also more difficult to clean. I would look into performance fabrics like Crypton, or Sunbrella, for your upholstery.

Thank you! These are all great suggestions. I had no idea that velvet was so finicky. It seems like R&B is the preferred brand. The benefits that I could see with Article is that they use 2.0 foam cushions vs 1.8 by R&B. Leather is also supposed to be easier to maintain than fabric, a point in Article's favor. However, I was really impressed with R&B's customer service and their beautiful designs. I will check out the performance fabrics!

I have a r&b reese sofa in tatum. its been 5 or 6 years. the fabric still looks pristine and is still comfortable. the cushions dont seem to have changed or compressed and we sit on it daily.

I would recommend a fabric with crypton.
