Do 12"w x 40" H glass cabinet doors look too narrow?

There is a 48" section on my baking/beverage center wall where I expect to store platters/dishes/crystal/vases. I'm not sure how best to make this work. The lower counter/cabinets will be deep - 30" and these uppers and drawers on the bottom will sit on the countertop (they will be 16" deep). I found a picture where they have 3 upper cabinets above 2 banks of drawers (see below) but as I'm putting drawers down to the counter, I'm wondering if it will look ok. Or, will 4 12" wide doors be fine? (The cabinet are going to be a simple shaker style)

Questions:

- glass or solid?

-2 24" wide doors? too big?

-3 18" doors? too asymmetrical?

-4 12" doors? too narrow?
