I need advice on which wall to hang pictures in bedroom

I want to get these three moon pictures, and originally I had thought they would look beautiful above the bed. But I have this big side wall above the laundry baskets to the left that is very empty. I feel like something needs to go there but I don’t want to put pictures on every single wall for fear of it looking too cluttered. Should I hang the pictures above the bed or should I hang them on the empty wall above the laundry baskets? Any advice is appreciated.

Depends on their size/scale. Will they fit and look good over the bed? That would be my first choice. Use painters tape to mock them up over the bed, then over the hampers.

Thanks! I can choose the size of the picture when I buy them so I was going to size them depending on which wall I decide on.

Also, excuse the weirdness of the coral throws. I’m still trying to incorporate this as an accent color and need more items. Any thoughts or ideas on this also welcome.

Do the hampers need to be in the bedroom? Unless you have other wood/brown elements, I don't think they really fit.

I'd add some art with coral, and perhaps a rug with some coral as well to tie in that color. The moons are nice, though I tend to like art to add color to a space, and you've got a good deal of black/grey/white already.

Good ideas, Carrie! I honestly wasn’t sure where to put the hampers. My closet or laundry room won’t hold them and I am trying to incorporate functional needs with some style. This is my first home and it’s been a challenge.

Thanks, Maureen! I tend to agree about the coral and may ditch the idea of an accent. We have carpet and didn’t have a choice on wall color so when picking bedding, I wanted navy with the gray walls. Thought I needed an accent but I think I’m overthinking.

……… maybe I should just add some other shades of blue for different color? I just feel like it looks so monotone. I really like boho eclectic styles where everything looks cohesive but doesn’t match perfectly.

Take a look at images that you like - what do you like about them? I don't know the official definition of "boho style" but I tend to think: relaxed, often colorful, flowy, tie dies, macrame, wood, texture. Start with the big stuff: rug, bed, wall color, etc. Find one thing you LOVE. A rug, for example, or a piece of art. And build from there.

I like your bedding, but I would not add pillows to it. I would just use the shams. No need for more.

As for adding color, do that in your art. A large piece of art over your laundry baskets would give you lots of color. Mirror over bed.

The comforter and headboard are new and I like them so would like to build off those. What color throw pillows would you buy? Teal perhaps to add something different? Is the coral accent a no-go? I’m open to other suggestions. I do like a relaxed, cozy vibe. I like colors, macramé, natural, texture, flowy. No tie-dye.

Sounds like your in great need of color and you want boho. Find a tapestry you can't live without and it will give you the colors you crave.

Tapestry over laundry baskets and mirror over bed. This has tons of color and really there is no need for more in the room.

These are a few other options I thought of for above the bed. I’m really attached to the moon idea because it’s something meaningful to me.

Some thoughts: The moon macramé is super cool, and you said you like macramé so that’s a find! If you prefer the moon prints, can they be framed together (3 mattes/1 frame) to make a statement piece? My suggestion is to put a tall, narrow rectangular mirror behind each lamp on the nightstands. Then add some decor on the nightstand (dish, flower, vase, frame, etc.) in whatever pop of color you choose, like the coral. Then use that color at least one more time, maybe in some artwork across from the bed (what’s on that wall by the way?). If you add an area rug, some of your accent color should be there, too, even in small doses. I hope that helps!

With tall headboards I don't think there is a need for anything on the wall. Also leave the hampers there if it works for you. We live in our homes not in a magazine. Hang some art over them. Also love the coral with the navy & white but maybe a softer coral

    and something fun

Thank you LP. Some excellent advice and ideas! Also, jck910, I love love love the first coral pillows you posted. Are those on Amazon? Lovely! The pillows I purchased were a lot brighter in person than online when I bought them.
