Greetings. The louvers were produced from hemlock (Tsuga) obtained from a local mill. They were cut and planed to custom dimensions and are supported by a system of end notches cut out of the middle and end framing support bars (also fashioned from hemlock). The louvers are not glued or fastened with screws or nails, which adds to the elegance of this fence design. The posts are made from larch (Larix) and all the remaining wood elements are fashioned from hemlock (all custom cuts and planing). The larch posts are set in custom welded galvanized steel braces with galvanized wood screws. Lastly, the wood stain was made from scratch using a traditional recipe dating from the colonial days of French Québec, incorporating natural oils and pigments (carpenter's secret :-) ). I hope this helps. Regards, Pierre - EV
