My 5 year old seedling Meiwa kumquat tree increases size through water sprouts as apposed to adding new growth to existing growth like most trees.

This makes for a 5.5 foot tree

It’s good that it is growing so well. I think I’d go for desired shape at this point.

I have a Tarocco and Sanboken that continue to push water sprouts, even after pruning. I let the most recent one grow on each tree and both have blossoms this year lol
