IMO you need to have meetings with a couple for sure to see how they will work with you and honestly that is the only way to hire this combo. Usually depending on what you are planning you might need an architect more than a designer . Maybe share a bit more info but really working with these pros is something like a marriage and you better like eachother and both be on the same wavelenght and no one can tell you who that might be for you.
