It is getting late-ish for a WValley freeze, but temperatures in Portland were colder several weeks ago. What was your minimum winter temperature?

Pretty sure my minimum this winter was 20.7F on February 23 but plants were fully dormant then. This April freeze was kind of a big deal --at least in my garden-- because there had been major heat before now causing many of my plants to flush into new growth, which was then destroyed by the frost.

Interestingly, my Eucalyptus pauciflora niphophila which was planted in late winter has tremendous new growth, more than anything else, and seems completely unfazed by the freeze.

In Canby yesterday I saw fresh freeze damage to red new-growth on an Andromeda shrub.

Adding Acer triflorum and Nandina domestica to the list of damaged plants.
