recommendations on drapery rod and length

Looking for suggestions on how to best approach curtains for my living room with 9ft ceilings. There's two windows + deck door that needs to be covered.

What are your thoughts on curtain length? 108 vs 96? I was thinking of trying to go with just one big curtain rod to span the entire distance since the space between windows is not that much and then with that have it mounted close to ceiling?

Hope to get some of your thoughts!

I would go with 108 inches. I have 9 foot ceilings and use 108 in panels. My windows are about the same size as yours and I use 4 panels on each.

Have you thought of doing blinds?

We thought of that, might consider it again but our decorator though curtains would be a nicer look in the area.

Are you having the curtains custom made, or are you using ready-made curtains? What type of hardware? Are the curtains rod pocket or will they hang from rings and drapery hooks?

The length should be such that the bottom of the curtains just hit the floor when they are installed, so you need to take into account exactly where the hardware will be placed, and how the curtains are attached to the hardware. Your decorator is the best source of advice on this, as he or she has all the information.

    Thanks !

Ready made curtains from urban barn (https://www.urbanbarn.com/en/product/bailey-panel-108-ivory-218284.html)

I will probably get them hemmed if I want them to just touch the floor vs puddle.

My big issue is trying to find a curtain rod long enough to span the entire length vs usually multiple smaller rods

Where does the decorator expected you to put all that curtain fabric?? For the best look you need panels 2.5-3 times the width of the windows and door. There isn't enough space to the left of the door for a panel. You can have wood poles cut to the length that you need.

I think blinds would be a much better look for your space

i agree, especially on the deck door i dont see how we will have space for curtains.

What would your thoughts be on doing curtains for the two windows and then blinds for the door? or would that have uniformity issues

This picture has a combination of blinds and curtain panels. The panels are more decorative and don't have to be full width. They have rings on one long rod, like you want. Some said you can purchase a long wooden rod. As you can see there is about the same amount of space between the windows and the French doors as in your place. I think this would look good.

    Perhaps consider large plantation shutters

jck910 has a good point about the stack-back--there's no room on the left side. Houssan's examples of shades and blinds is a great look! Your decorator should be able to source a rod long enough for the span, with supporting brackets of course.
