I don't see any other wood colors in your room but the floor. What are the upstairs doors like? Do you want to be consistent throughout?

@decoenthusiasteThe doors to the unfinished part of the basement and the outer portion of the bathroom door I had painted “ urban bronze” it’s like a dark brown bronze color. I had the old exterior door painted that color as well. I didn’t expect to get the wood door, now that I got it I don’t think I should paint it! If all else falls I’ll go with color of the others doors.

If it's an exterior door I'd opt for somethin like a dark walnut stain to hide fingerprints, etc. I can't picture white furniture in the room with your heavy, dark sectional. Maybe a sandy color just a bit darker than your floor...it would go well with your rug, too.

@Beth H. :thanx for the mock up...as u see im a guy lacking in decorating skills 😂 ...it doesnt have to be stained...i just figured because its wood i should 🤷🏻‍♂️... im still figuring out what to do with the windows and the door window..i like having all the light but was thinking some sheers on the door with some sash rods....if i did a blue door should i go with some blue curtains?

I would paint the door the same color as the trim and get a door mat that matches a blue in the area rug.

if you msust cover them, get some type of blind that only covers the window portion and noe of the wall. If you can do an inside mount, perfect. otherwise, mount them on the trim. (but only if you really need to) blinds.com is a great place

HomeGoods has some good throws, pillows and little plant thingys you could procure. take a trip there, w/a female if possible.

some other blues blue/grays. I like the newbury. but you need those white accents to balance out the dark.
