Roman shades in kitchen

Hello!
I need shades for my kitchen window above the sink. Kitchen is open to dining and family rooms.
Picture is not mine. I have 2 windows together like these 3 with frame between them.
Should I get 1 big flat Roman shade or 2 separate ones? Whatever I get, they need to go inside the frame.
Another option is Roller shades.
Shades will have pattern as backsplash is solid and cabinets are white. Need these to spice up the room! Also needed for filtering the sun.
Love your advice and look forward to getting the help I need!!

I haven't bought any yet, but I love option to pull down cellular shades [even with fabric shades I suppose ok]... privacy.

The hook-and-loop top allows for easy removal of your shade for easy cleaning. Inside mount for a cleaner look, or outside mount for 100% blackout, adding 2 - 6 inches to the window recess width for total blackout. Pull the shade up and down easily with the attached handle.

I would get 1 flat roman shade. Why do they need to go inside?

Do you want the shades for privacy or light control, or just for "spicing" up the kitchen? Are the 2 windows set in one molding, or are they separate?

Thank you all! I need them for light control and spicing up the kitchen. I guess they need to go inside because my backsplash goes to ceiling. Also I do like the window frame. But I guess I could cover backsplash. Not a bad idea- it wouldn’t cover 7-12 inches of window. Hoping to get battery operated ones. Too late for electrical hookup.

If you can, then one shade across both windows as an inside mount would work well.

Can you post a photo of the window?

I think one larger custom shade looks cleaner/crisper to me - we have one large bamboo blind over our three sink windows and I like that I can use one cord to move everything up and down at once and I don't have to fuss with the 3 separate blinds -

hi @Amy Perlman - for sure, here is my window (on a hot sunny day) - I chose bamboo bc I wanted it to be neutral but bring a lot of texture to the space,

I see you put you shades above the frame. I like how it lets all the light in. Looks beautiful!

always prefer maximum flexibility. sun and uv issues vary with time of year/time of day/ angle of house..leafing out of vegetaion or not..etc. would choose solar shade individual per each window so greatest adjusting can be done. would not spend on custom single roman as in first for a kitchen sink window as compared to other pictures of individual solar shades. I dont like glare and heat from sun when cooking a meal or other times and solar shade gives some transparency/is very lightweight / can be textured material / and so easy to quickly adjust.

I love those herbflavor! Thank you for posting! Is the last photo Roman shades? I think a pattern like this would liven up my kitchen and still keep it light and airy. I need a bright white background as well.

i guess the last pic is roman style. but without the heavy lining..a lighter fabric for sure and breaking it up ...one on each window perhaps gives that max flexibility . top down/bottom up cellular are good too but you didnt ask about that. look at the displays at Lowes etc. there are amazing upgrades they are constantly doing to all sorts of treatments.
