Help needed with placement of Whitehaven sink

Please help me with the placement of a 30" Kohler tall apron Whitehaven sink.
I have full overlay frameless cabinets. The sink cabinet has a removable face front above the doors.
My contractor has not installed this type of apron sink before and wants to remove the face front and install the sink flush against the cabinet box. He will cut tbe face front to fill the space below the sink. This will leave a very small gap where the sink curves at the bottom that will be filled with white trim behind the sink. He says it will not be noticeable.
I feel doing this defeats the purpose of why I bought the Whitehaven self trimming sink and will not look good. Am I missing an issue that would prevent the face front from being trimmed so that the sink fits flush against it instead instead of the cabinet box? I like the look of it being flush with the doors/drawers.
The countertop will have the standard 1 1/2 inch overhang, so that's not an issue. Sink supports have been installed as per Kohler's instructions. For this sink, is a positive or negative reveal recommended?

If you have a white sink and a black top, you'd use clear or dark silicone, not white. This is because the bottom edge of the stone is relatively rough compared to the smooth sink. If you used white it would look like a jagged white sink. If you use clear or dark, it looks smooth.

It is foolish to not utilize the advantages of a self-facing sink. The best scribing carpenter on earth can't make a cut as nice as a sink blocking the view of a rough cut. Furthermore, the sink looks more proportionate sitting proud of the cabinet face.

I run a sink replacement business and don't like Kohler's installation instructions. The wood blocking they recommend can shrink, causing the sink to drop and leak. A stainless steel Pesomoki can't and remains adjustable. Installation is much better as well, because the sink is dialed down 1/8", the top set, the flange siliconed (bring the stone to the sink never the sink to the stone color-wise), and the sink dialed into place.

You want the smallest positive reveal you can get please. Much easier to keep clean. Insist; fabricators love the crud-ledge negative reveal because they don't have to be as precise. A flush reveal is out of the question.

Thank you Joseph! I will definitely look into the Pesomoki support system and ask for the smallest reveal. My sink was missing the template for the rough cut. I'm assuming just careful measuring would work.

Joseph, what do you mean by "bring the stone to the sink never the sink to the stone color-wise"? I'm working on my reno and have the Whitehaven. I am contemplating soapstone counters, but haven't fully decided between that or a white(ish) quartz. While I love soapstone and would prefer it, it's pricey. Yet I've seen reports that white quartzes can yellow over time, so I'm torn. What color would I use if I go with the soapstone?
