Is it a good idea to paint walls and ceiling the same color white?

Has anyone done ceiling and walls the same white? I would love the name of the paint and photos if possible.

Sure all the time- you can find images all over from all bright white to all black. What look are you going for? Keep in mind the ceiling color will always appear darker than the wall even if you use the same color.

I am doing it in a condo. Winter white in LR and white dove elsewhere. I’ll post photos when it’s done.

I agree with Hallett...all the time and it can look great!

My husband and I recently painted the entire interior of our “Forever Home” with Home Depot’s Behr Ultra Scuff Defense Primer and Paint; color: off white. Matte for ceilings and walls; satin for doors and moldings. We even received a 10% military discount from Home Depot, as I am a retired US Air Force Captain. The key to a great paint job is the prep work: we fixed all nail pops and cracks, sanded and primed all areas; then prior to painting , we washed and rinsed all ceilings, walls, doors, and moldings. When we were tired we took long breaks. This paint is easy to spply, no odor, no issues. Every one loves our white walls, and the walls look great all times of the day too! I’ve used BM and SW paint in the past, and like the Behr better! Best of luck in your paint journey.

You can paint an all-the-same white, but that is what contractor design/build usually does. I like to paint Benjamin Moore Decorator White Matte for the ceiling, same white semigloss for the trim and then pick one of the wonderful whites available. It's a subtle difference, but definitely feels like it has a designers' touch.

I painted the interior with BM's Chantilly Lace, and I love it! My master bedroom, which needs to be skim coated first (when I have saved enough money) and I have been thinking about doing it a lovely shade of green instead of the CL color, then keeping the drapes and bedding all white. But if I did the latter, I'd be very happy. I used to think that neutrals throughout a home were boring and unimaginative, but I have learned that the sophistication of a single color sets the tone for elegance and serenity.

    Thank you all!!!
I love all the pictures, thank you for sharing them.

I bought Chantilly Lace for the entire house ( eggshell for walls, flat for ceiling and semigloss for doors and trims).
I am super excited and I will
Post pictures when we are done:-)
