Bingo word for the day is Sunscreen, since its going to be 100 today here. I work from home so I don't get outside much during the day but will have to check on my plants today to make sure no one scorches. Hope everyone is staying cool today.

Shirley, do you have a website where you sell your day lilies and iris? Or does anyone here know if she does? I sure would love to come visit your farm while its in bloom.

I am wondering if the whole country is hot! Record temps here and too much rain. My rose campion is rotting in the ground and I tried repotting my curry plant because it was starting to die. Will keep it out of the rain and hand water. It is one of my favorites and can’t find it around here. Got it when I visited a friend up in Toledo.

Scored a good size coral bells today at Kroger for 2.99. Too happy, lol lol.

Where is everybody? Seems our groups are dwindling down too much. After doibg swaps for 20 plus years with various groups, it makes me sad.

Margo, I'm just like you, wondering why more people are not stopping in. Even if there's not time to swap, it would be great to hear from our gardening friends.

We were supposed to get some extreme heat today but it wasn't so bad. The temperature went up around 93 but the humidity was pretty reasonable and it was cloudy for a lot of the day. I did go out early this morning and do some watering just in case. Lots of wildlife critters around here and there's always a thing or two that gets munched down. I noticed my salvia leaves were gone this morning - stems were still there but every leaf eaten off. Some of the nicer daylilies that I moved are about to bloom and I put a tomato cage around them so hopefully the buds get a chance to open. I have had success with my brown tulle that I've placed in some of my containers but hesitate to wrap plants in it. I may do it temporarily so I get to see some things bloom. When I lay it on the soil, it really just looks like dirt and the critters that were digging holes there have quit. I probably posted how I really dislike the fragrance of gardenias. Have some in the front and back yard and they bloomed at different times so I'll be glad once all those blossoms are gone. It doesn't seem the critters like to eat them. My next project is to spray for mosquitoes and ticks.

Jeanne, the critters are a pain. We have trouble with the raccoons going in the garage when we take trips. We call the cats in and shut the garage door every night. When we travel, we can’t do it. The nrighbor boy comes and feeds them. Thisecstinkers always come and often make a mess. We have trapped some in the past and take them to another area of the community. Can’t do that anymore because a raccoon came on the porch and three little ones followed her. Ugh I did have a pot knocked off last night. I saw one ofcthe babies try to tip one tonight before I chased them off.

I will say that so far I have been successful keeping the deer damage down with my homemade deer deterrent.

Gardenias are gorgeous. The scent just needs to be toned down a bit.

Margo, I hope to get your seeds and the card mailed tomorrow. It seems I heard that Monday is a holiday.

Sorry it’s been a few days, between work and my UC flaring it has been a week. Will be happy to just spend time with plants tomorrow:) Thank you Margo for the lovely cat card and generous seeds can’t wait to plant some. I will be sending my card out this weekend Beth

Kim here are some plants I posted a few years ago. Downsizing this year and

the daylily clumps are huge we are selling.

DH is now on oxygen and guess who is doing everything. Mowing, weed eating, weeding, digging truckloads of daylilies for market and ALL the house chores. I don't know if I am coming or going most days.

Margo I do have that lily. Milo is so precious. Nothing like a baby, pure love.

Shirley, so sorry to hear of your hubby's declining health. That is not easy for anyone.

Shirley, i have so many lilies in bloom and i know several are from you, I failed to mark them properly. I am sorry your husband is not well. It sure puts a lot on your plate. Don’t be stubborn about asking for help like I am, we are no longer the super women we used to be.

Kim, I'm going outside to see if there is anything worth photographing. A very hot day here and I think the one daylily I had in bloom quit blooming yesterday. We'll see if I find something.

Jeanne, we headed on a trip to Iceland early yesterday so I won’t know if your card came til next Saturday. I’m sure it’s probably there although a card from my son was almost 2 weeks late.

So sorry I have been absent I am in a UC flare and it has been terrible. I haven’t been outside for several days and praying my husband is keeping things watered. Im feeling a little better today so I hope to tally everything up tonight and check and see who has received seeds. We got a bit of rain yesterday but not as much as they predicted. At least a bit of water for everything without me using the hose!

Kim, sorry you have been ill. I’ve been there a coupke times and it is no fun.

We are enjoying our trip to the fullest including several wonderful meals. In June and Juky, the countryside is covered in wild lupine. Totally amazing.

Here in Iceland, they are experiencing long days. This is sunset at midnight last night. It rose again at 3 am so never really gets dark. Our hotel overlooks the ocean.
