Ineed a bit more info like is tah your only dining space ? The raised bar has to go no matter what , those cabinets ar beyond dated and you need a counter depth fridge for sure. Do you meamn that little wall to the side of the stools is load bearing? How about ato scale floor plan showing all meausrements clearly marked and some more info.

What are your goals - what do you want to accomplish? More functionality? Lighter colors? You may think about painting the cabinets and the walls. You may want to think about expanding the kitchen into the dining area, and putting the dining area in a part of the room that looks into the kitchen (with the counter chairs). I would put counter space between the fridge and the stove. If you have something heavy from the fridge - you have no immediate counter space with which to place it. Therefore, your "kithen triangle" is not as effective as it could be.

You can get a very nice, functional kitchen in your existing footprint. What is your budget? Will you be doing any DIY or hiring it all out? How many people live here and how many cook?

I would skip the "L" on the left and put the fridge there, so you don't have cooling and heating appliances fighting each other. Run your cabinets to the ceiling. Go with a tall, counter-depth fridge like this:

On the other side, do a one level peninsula with the sink, to avoid the cost of moving plumbing.

I have not updated my kitchen since I moved in over 25 years. I will be having family help me  but I'll get a cabinet co for the cabinets and counter. I was considering moving the refrigerator but was debating on the pros and cons. 5 people and 3 cooks. I am getting rid of the upper level counter and extend into the den. Still wondering which is durable quartz or granite? Also is there a place for a microwave? If I move the the frig, would I lose space by getting rid of the L part of the counter. My husband wanted a corner cabinet there with the L counter.

Are there any pics for ideas.

This site is full of pics, but it's not clear what aspect you want to see.

If you will post all the dimensions (including the door, the partial wall, etc.), people here will be happy to design you a modern kitchen in the space!

where does the white door lead to? looks like you get an extra foot maybe on sink side to extend that run without interfering w table area. I'd reverse the fridg w stove ... big appliances arent so aesthetic adjacent to eating zones. you can get a nice hood with dimmable light and backsplash above range so thats nicer near the end of that run. No you dont want a corner.....put the fridge down near the door and maybe even a 12 or 15 wide full depth tall pantry cab at the end will be much more useable. I think its a 10 ft wall.....but you can gain the last foot with a cab and counter [nothing there now] if you put the stove down in fridge spot. likely 48 in at least between range and fridge and still a tall pantry allowed. show dimensions. 1st pic has mwave drawer..FYI....so hood can go above range......and 2nd..... about a 10 foot wall w fridge down at the door end and a side panel as well..
